Leigh Ann graduated from Ravensbourne College of Design and Communication in 1989 with a BA (Hons) in Graphic Design. Following a career as a graphic designer she enrolled onto the botanical illustration and painting diploma course run by the English Gardening School, Chelsea Physic Garden under the tutelage of Anne Marie Evans, and took up botanical illustration professionally. She became a qualified tutor in 2008 and has been teaching botanical illustration in the South East of England ever since. She is known for her encouraging and supportive approach to teaching students, and over the years has become a highly regarded mentor and advisor on the subject.
Leigh Ann has been awarded medals for her work and has exhibited extensively around the world. Some of her paintings are held in private collections, as well as the Hunt Institute for Botanical Documentation, Pittsburgh, The Florilegium Society at Sydney Botanic Gardens, the Hampton Court Palace Archives, and the Nymans Florilegium in Sussex. She is Vice Chairman/Chairman Elect of the Hampton Court Palace Florilegium Society.
Leigh Ann lives in Horsham, West Sussex with her husband and two cats, and she has one grown up daughter.
