About
Hello,
I live in Scotland. I have always drawn, I cannot remember a time when I did not have either a pencil, pen, crayon or paint brush in my hand.
My art has been a constant companion through my 60+years on this planet. I have explored quite a few mediums over the years but always come back to my first love, graphite.
In 2012 I successfully achieved a diploma, with distinction, for the Society of Botanical Artists. For the two years of the course I used watercolour. Due to chronic illness now I find my hand shakes too much using a brush, so now I use not only graphite but also coloured pencils, these are easier to control.
I am also a member of the Scottish Society of Botanical Artists and have just had five pieces of work in the annual exhibition. Since 2012 I have had five solo exhibitions of botanical drawings. Although I love flowers/plants I much prefer drawing them when they are dying back and one can see the architectural skeleton of a plant and the seed pods.
I look forward to being a member of this group.
