Thank you Sue I haven't read about this as fully as you but I do love the idea that we included all aspects of phycology.

I do not think that you can have 'botanical art' without it being linked to science. Yes I do think we need to be 'restricted by the rigours of science' otherwise it becomes flower painting. A totally different genre all together. that doesn't mean we can have isolated items from a plant but these do need to show rigour even if in a subtle way as was the case with the seed pod.

This is fabulous Jenny. I do think the blog post was thought provoking as was your reply, Hopefully the exhibition has shown a good cross section of material across a wide range f organisms. Your work on illustrating the natural history of the Andean Forests is an amazing project and in line with our ethos of trying to promote the understanding and protection of native species. EA

I agree it was really intriguing to watch her so effortless. Interesting to watch the chat room questions. Even if you have been drawing for a while you can always pick up something new or a twist on what you do. Week 4 is botanical art so I am going to go over that. fell asleep at 12. Good fun though. You can sign up for this at anytime whilst it is running. If you don't have time to complete it there is still access to most of the materials as the course is archived. However, to gain certification you would need to complete it in the 6 week time slot. I guess it runs parallel to their University Course.

I wonder if these are triggered by day length rather than temperature?
